                                                    CHECKING THE SOLENOIDS

 

   When finally complete the assembly of the variator and install, can turn cars will not go or 

will not be able to overcome even the light wake up. Agree that the wear in the solenoid is

also present: the ball "breaks" the mounting seat, the anchor (core) solenoid is flattened and

the flow of oil do the trick. Unit cover solenoids under the hood did not immediately tie, fas-

ten it by just two bolts on the diagonal. Wheel cars must stand firmly on the ground. When

suspended wheels, shaft rotation sensors apparently introduced into the "misleading" the

computer TCM.

   Connect a pressure gauge and check pressure. If pressure is low, raise it adjusting screw on

the body of the solenoid "LINE PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE", turn it clockwise direc-

tion. Again, close the lid on the two bolts and check the car on track. Do not worry about oil

leaking through the lid will not.

   If the car can not overcome even a light wake up, maybe you too much housing unscrewed

hydraulic valve solenoid "NEUTRAL IDLE/TCC CLUTCH CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE" - tighten to

180 degrees. Again, close the two bolts and check again on the move. Cars must overcome a

difficult confidently wake up. For this operation, the solenoid must be removed.

   Solenoid "NEUTRAL IDLE/TCC ON - OFF SOLENOID VALVE" should be working properly,

otherwise useless twist the body of hydraulic valve. Remember all three solenoids oil is

supplied from a single line. O - rings on the last two solenoids replaced.

          MAYBE THIS WILL HAVE TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS IN SEVERAL STAGES.

   Why is this happening? In TCM there is a program that manages the variator, the entire hy-

draulic system. Therefore, the work of the solenoids must fit under the factory calibration.

Who works with flash technology knows that in a PWN duty cycle, ie determine the maximum

pulse width (in percent) from the period specified by the program. We can not change, so we

need to correctly adjust the maximum work solenoid so that the ball valve in the solenoid at

this pulse width is completely managed to shut down. And in the adsence of momentum - to

open up and drain the oil, or vice versa. Therefore, we must at least come closer to the

factory settings (calibration). Roughly speaking, we need to get into this cycle.
